The Agawam Housing Authority owns, operates, manages, and maintains each of its six seperate public housing developments. The portfolio consists of all state-aided housing, which in total comprises 242 units. There is currently a waiting list for such housing. (Check availablity below)
The Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) is the funding source for all public housing at the Agawam Housing Authority. Under this program, there are 191 units designated for elderly and handicapped residents along with 51 designated family units, ranging in size from two to three bedroom units.
The AHA is led by a Board of Commissioners and one member appointed by the Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Six full time Staff members serve in Administrative Management and Maintenance positions.
